  1. People said that there was a hidden treasure in Ballyanihan in a liss. There was supposed to be a foxy woman and a bull minding the treasure One time there was a man living near the liss, One night when he was sitting by the fire a strange man walked in to him and he sat by the fire and lit his pipe.
    After a short time he told him, the man of the house, that he was in guard over the gold in the liss, that night, and that all the rest went away.
    He asked the man of the house to go with him and that he would give him half of the gold. But the man was afraid and he would not go. He was thinking the the people of the Liss might kill him and put him minding the gold Long ago it was called Lynch's Liss. The Liss is round in shape, There are white thorn bushes growing round the Liss
