Her husband got very angry and he looked into the pot, he saw a fish inside in it. Then he consulted with some neighbours who told him to take the pot and fish back to the well. He did so and the fish disappeared.
If water was a long time boiling you would say to the person who put it down "You must have gone to Mologga for that water" or "The Mologga trout must be in it".
- There was a holy well in Rockmills long ago, the well is there still but is not now considered a holy well. The patron saint was St. Nicholas, he is said to be a brother to St Mologga whose well is situated in the townland of Achacross.
The well is on a height. There are two big Ash trees on each side of the well. It is said when those trees meet the end of the world will come. This was prophesied by Father Kearney.
There is an outlet from the well into the river Funcheon.
People suffering from sore eyes used to go to the well and some of them were cured.(continues on next page) - Collector
