  1. In the penal times some people had to come a very long journey to hear Mass, and it was in cliffs and furze brakes or in a corner of a field it was celebrated.
It was celebrated in Inchemay on a flat green space of mountain belonging to a farmer named Con Brian at present.
The Mass stone is still to be found in a cliff close by as it was removed from where the Mass was celebrated.
Once a man was cutting turf on the mountain opposite this place and he noticed a cross shining like glass over the place where Mass was celebrated.
The opposite mountain is called glounstane a gcapall because the people who came to Mass left their horses tied on this mountain and they crossed the river to hear Mass on the mountain.
