  1. There was one time a very old dancing master who used to call to Lyre, to teach dancing to the boys and girls of the place. His name was Tadg Rue and he got a barn from a farmer to teach the practice dance. This old man used wear clogs and when dancing he should lean on his blackthorn stick. He had a fiddler with him whose name was Mickie Duggan. He was a small man with a hump, but a good fiddler and the boys and girls used have great sport dancing. When they would go for a dance Mickie used play the fiddle and Tadg the flute. The old people used enjoy them very much. Now Tadg and Mickie are dead God rest their souls.
