  1. The Lord of Stakehill
    We marched quite in order, and the band cheerily played,
    The Soul stirring tune called "The Irish Brigade".
    We had bayonets and arms to display on the dill.
    For we had no fear of his power in stake - hill.
    II
    The number that day three hundred and three
    They came from Kiskeam and famed Boherbue,
    Derinagree and Coolclough all determined to spill,
    The blood of the old vermin, that day in Stake - hill.
    III
    The Captain gave order we all formed fours,
    And marched right in order to the old tyrants
    Hall door,
    The Captain cried "Halt" every man stood up still
    And we loo - ed at the avenue gate of Stake - hill
    IV
    When he saw us retreating the old tyrant did moan,
    For little he thought that his life he would own,
    For it was in the prophecy of the great Colm - Cill [?]
    That the first great invasion would take place
    in Stakehill.

    Early next morning Ball Kervin came there.
    And now I can tell you not many would dare
    With his pencil a ready note book to fill
