  1. In the land of Kilskohona, Drimoleague Co Cork, a crock of gold is supposed to be buried behind a house now occupied by a MR O.DRISCOLL. In a grove, the gold is said to be buried under a certain tree. Some of the old inhabitants tell the story of how two men were determined to dig for treasure. They came at night for three nights in succession, intending to dig under the tree but on each occasion were chased away by a phantom bull.
Near Drinagh village about six miles east of Drimoleague there is gold supposed to be buried in a field near where the creamery. It is said that an old woman buried her gold there at night. She marked the spot by standing a churn staff over it. When she came out in the morning there were dozens of staffs all over the field, and she did not know which one her gold was under. It is thought that the gold is still there.
