This indicates that a rainbow in the morning is a sign of a rainy day, whereas a rainbow in the night is a sign of a "take-up" in the weather as the people say locally. When both ends of a rainbow are in the same townsland, it is said that a person in that townsland will die e'er long. It is noted that such often occurred.
South & South Westerly wind brings most rain to the School district. North & North Easterly wind brings very little rain but is usually harsh and cold. When it rains from the East & S.
