  1. I reside in the townland of Rodeen, Parish of Aughrim, Barony of Roscommon. There are four families amounting to fifteen people in this townland. "Gannon" is the family name most common. All the houses are thatched except one and it is slated. There is one old person in the townland. Her name is Mrs. Gannon. She can tell some English stories.
There were two more houses in this townland in former years. Both are now in ruins. The people who were living in these houses died and there was no one to take their places.
The land in the townland is hilly and good. There are four woods growing in it. The Church wood, the Round wood, the Well wood and the Chapel wood. There is one lake and many streams. The lake is called Rodeen Lough but there are no names on the streams.
