- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)There is also another well in the
townland of Kiltyfea [=Killyfea]. it is known as"wart
well." The stone is not very big, only about
the size of an oven. Near this well there
is a stone on which St. patrick knelt
while in prayer. The track of his knee is
still seen in the stone.
People suffering from warts visit
this well on three different occasions, and
say certain prayers, in honour of the Saint
that founded it. They leave something at
the well in thanksgiving for getting cured of
the warts.
Sprains
A long piece of thread is taken and
twisted around the sprained joint. Each
time the thread is twisted around the
joint the person that is making the
cure says one Pater, Ave, and Gloria. This
is done seven times. The thread is left on
the sprained joint until it wears off.
As the thread is wearing off, so also is
the sprained joint getting better.
This prayer is said in this part
of the country to cure a severe blood
