- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)her. She saw an old beggar woman passing who was very ragged. She took off her cloak and gave it to the old woman. That showed how charitable she was. There is an old custum connected with that night which all the young girls look forward to. They gather up in bands and go around collecting money. They have a little ryhme which they repeat at each door:
"Here's St Bridget dressed in white,Give is some money to honour her night,She is deaf, and she is dumb,And she can't talk without a tongue".
She was buried in Downpatrick with St Patrick and St Columcille as the lines say:-
"Three saints one grave do fill,Patrick, Bridget and Columcille.
