- I was told this story by an old man named Ned Donohue the kind of food used in olden times when he was a boy he was working down in Bellew's, of Mt Bellew and he said when he used to be going out to work. He used to take a piece of oaten bread with him and some fresh milk. He said they never used to drink tea and if they were digging potatoes they would make a fire in the field and roast the raw potatoes and take them with the milk and when they would come in in the evening they would have stirabout.
