- (continued from previous page)Lots of trees were tumbled over in Leathill and there was a lot tumbled over in the planting in a hollow called Lagnasbride.
A terrible lot of trees were tumbled over in Mulroy woods and I heard my father saying it was terrible the roots that those trees had.
- About forty nine years ago there was a very great storm. It happened in the year eighteen eighty nine and it was the worst storm that even the old people saw.
There was a lot of harm done during that storm.
We ourselves had three corn stalks tumbled and there were ninety five stocks in one of them. They would all have been tumbled only my father and a servant boy called Barney McGonigle got out and got them tied with ropes.
The barrow also was lifted off the street and was carried down to the foot of the garden and one of the shafts was broken.
