- On fifteenth September 1925 Father Andrew Logue was on holidays in his father's home in Carrigart. The day he and a cousin of his named Pat Logue of the same place out in a small boat fowling in Mulroy Bay. A good breeze was blowing at the time and they went down the Rossgull side of Island Roy which was best sheltered. Suddenly the breeze rose to a hurricane and the waves lashed the boat about. They tried to get ashore but could not reach it. Then a huge wave swamped the boat and the men were left struggling in the water. Pat Logue was drowned almost immediately. The priest seized an oar and was carried by the tide for more than a mile till he was rescued at a place known as the "Rannerroe Point" below Fanny's Bay.
