Ar an leathanach seo
- Long ago nobody wore shoes before he was 16 yrs of age. They went to school barefooted in snow & frost= now-adays all the children as well as grown ups wear shoes. In Spring the children throw them off and go bare-foot until beginning of winter.
There has never been a shoe-maker in Loughros Point. There were a few in the parish but nowadays all shoes are bought in the village shops. Some 3 or 4 farmers in the area wear clogs purchased in the village shops.
Leather curing has never been carried on nor has uncured leather or skin ever been worn on the feet.
