- In a field near Swords there is supposed to be a stray sod. There was a man crossing it one night. He knew the path through the field very well but he kept straying away from it without knowing it and he thought he was on the right path the whole time until he found himself on the wrong side of the field. He was like this all night and could not find the gate or a gap to get out. When daylight came he was very tired and saw the gate quite near him and found his way out of the field. After that he never crossed the field path across the field and that the fairies strayed anyone who crossed it after Sunset.
