The birds which are commonly seen in this district are: blackbirds, thrushes, robins, wrens, tits, sparrows, linnets, finches, crows, jackdaws, plovers, magpies, cuckoos,swallows, corncrakes and others.
The cuckoo, the swallow and the corncrake migrate to warmer countries in the winter.
The plover leaves this country in the summer and goes to a colder region.
The swallows gather in clusters on the wires and on the tops of houses before they migrate.
The different kinds of birds build their nests in different places.
The swallow builds its nest on the rafters of a barn or hayshed. It builds its nest from mud and it lines it with feathers. It builds a strong snug nest. When it has layed five eggs it sits on them for three weeks and then the young ones come out. It flys out through the air with its beak open and it catches every fly that it comes upon. It feeds its young on flies.
