  1. The weeds which are most harmful around this district are Dandelion, bulky-sham, horse-radish, pressaugh, thistle and rushes.
    The farmers dislike these weeds because they take the good form the soil. There is a herb called the marshmallow whose juice contains a remedy for bad sprains and swellings, Wild celery contains a cure for rheumatic fever.
    Pressaugh is harmful because is destroys crops such as oats, wheat and barley. It is said that the puck-mushroom when it is rotten contains a brownish pourder which when put on a fresh cut heals it.
    Horse-radish and robenrun the hedge spread rapidly.
    The nettle although a harmful weed is very useful. The top part of it can be plucked, boiled and given to young turkeys.
