   There is a well in Foghill called St. Patrick’s well. When St. Patrick was in France it was the children of Foghill he heard calling him back. So he returned and blessed the well in Foghill, and it is said he gave to Foghill the gift of good singers. There is another well in Killala called Patrick’s well.
