    Once there was aman and he was very fond of playing cards.

    Once there was a man, and he was very fond of playing cards. there wouldn't be a place within five miles of him, that he'd hear card playing to be, but he'd go to it, and it didn't make any matter to him what time he'd be coming home.
    This night, as he was coming home it was late, and he was far away from home. He was coming along the road, and it was a grand moonlight night, and what did he see on the road, but a grand table and people sitting around playing cards. As he approached them, they asked him to sit down and play cards with them. so he did, and he wasn't a bit afraid. He played on for some time until at last a card fell from him under the table, and he stooped to lift it up, and what did he see instead of the card, but an old man's head, and two big eyes looking up at him. he frightned and got up then and went home, and never left his house any more playing
