Long ago the old custom in Ireland was when any couple used to be getting married, when as they used to be leaving the house, they sent the man out the door first and when they used to be leaving the chapel they would put the man out first, because they thought if the girl would go out first, she would die before the man, and if the two of them went out to-gether the two would die to-gether.
    Then they would have all the side-cars in the two or three nearest villages gathered for the day. They would put the married couple on the first car, and they would go around the county for about thirty miles. They used to do the same coming home, and so fast as the horse would gallop for some house in the married couple's village and
