    People should not leave the house, while a churning is making, with-out taking a while, because it is said if you left the house you would bring the butter.

  2. The usual way they hatch hens in our district is, they get a square box, and put a damp sod of clay, in the bottom of the box. They get straw and hay and put it over the clay. They usual number of eggs that are put under a hen are twelve or fourteen. If they are hen eggs they are left three weeks under the hen. If they are duck eggs, goose eggs or turkey eggs they are left a month or so.
