   Long ago there was a school in Ballinglen. The teacher's name was Mr Brannigan. He had two assistant teachers namely Mr Bourke from Glenurla and Mr Lynn from Ballinkinlettra. About 96 children attended this school. Mr Brannigan ibvited all the old people who were able to read and speak Irish so that when the inspector (when) would come they would be able to speak in Irish. This day the inspector came and
