  1. More care is taken of the feet nowadays than long ago. If anything goes wrong with a person's feet they visit a doctor called a chiropodist. Special shoes are made with steel arch supports for people with weak arches. Children wear shoes almost before they leave the cradle.
    According to what the old people tell us, shoes were but a rare article of clothing in their days. They seem to have valued them as highly as most people do their motor-cars
