  1. The village of Carrick got its name because of all the rocks that are in the neighbourhood. The byroads got their names from some person who lived near the roads.
    The old road got its name because it was the old road leading to the town of Kilkelly. The Bog Road because it led to the bogs, and everyone could go by that road to his own bog.
    Bid's Road was so called because a woman called Bid was the only woman
