  1. Long ago there was an old school in Loughkeeran in the place where a family called Bolgans now live. The teacher was called "Mí-adh Aodh" because he was always regarded as unlucky. Every time he got a little money from the pupils which he taught he went to the public house and drank too much, for drink was very cheap in those days.
