  1. Potatoes are sown widely in this locality, the land is not manured before it is turned up, but after the potatoes are set they are manured. When the stalks appear above the ground, they are moulded, that is, the fresh clay is put up on drills or ridges with the plough.
    After some time they are moulded again and this is called remoulding and this time the stalks are well above the ground.
    Then the stalks are sprayed to prevent blight from falling on the crop, and
