There was a farmer who lived near Clongeen...

There was a farmer who lived near Clongeen and he used keep a lot of cows. Wan morning when he brought them in to milk them he couldn't get a drop of milk from any of 'em.
He said to himself that he would watch the net night and what was happening 'em. He went out next night, and he brought a gun with him. 'Twas a grand moonlight night. Sometime about the middle of the night he saw a hare coming into the field and going over to a cow and started to suck her. He up with the gun and fired at the hare. The hare went off on his legs. Next day he heard that this certain woman was the bed after getting a broken leg.
It was this old woman who was taking the milk, and who took the form of a hare of it.
