   My mother told me that when she was young on November Eve that they would get a key belonging to the nearest widow. They would melt lead through the hole in the key and whatever it would worm such as a ship the eldest girl in the house would marry a sailor. If it formed a cow she would marry a farmer a loaf of bread she would marry a baker and so on
   On one St Brigids night my father and other men get ready for the Biddy in this way _ they made a big green doll and one of them carried her on his shoulders from house to house asking and they asking for money.
   On Hallow E'en my mother told me people get two beans and put them in the fire. They are representing a boy and a girl. If the two beans hop together there will be a marriage if not
