  1. Boys a few years ago used slings for killing birds. The way to make a sling:-
    Get a piece of leather about three inches long and one and a half inches wide. Then double it up. Tie a cord to each end of the leather having one about six inches longer that than the other. You twist the long cord round your finger until the two cords are the same length. Then put a stone in the leather and swing it round until it is in full swing then let go the short cord having the long cord round your finger and you will find that you can shoot it hundreds of yards. The tongue of an old shoe is the best for the piece of leather in a sling.
