    163.
Long ago there was a man living in Clonkerry and he was a poor man.He was living near a fort and his cow died and he was very sorry after her.One evening he was in the fort he met a little man and he asked him was he sorry after his cow and he said he was .The little man asked him would he like to get her back again and he said he would. And the little man told him to stand at a certain end of the fort and the cow would come out the gap after being milked. And to get a spancil that he had her tied with in his own cabin and to throw it at her horns when he would see her coming out the gap and if he put it in her horns he would get the cow back again .And he did and carried her home.
