    With shovels and loys they dug deep in the ground until they reached an enormous flat flag. Here Micheal Welsh stopped work and he said that a black cat which guarded the treasure was to kill John Mattimoe. John was seized with fear at this. He threw down his loy and went home terror stricken. He said his life was dearer to him than the treasure.
    The two boys lifted the flag to see if they could get the treasure. But no; they did not get the gold. There were only hundreds of prints in the crock. The hole is there to this
