- In the month of January marriages most frequently takes place. This is an old rhyme that the old people used to say:- Monday for wealth, Tuesday for health, Wesenday the best day of all, Tursday for losses, Friday for crosses and Saturday no luck at all. When a man gets married the people all around go to the chapel and they throw an old shoe at the two that are married for good luck. At olden marriages there used to be a wedding feast held but now it is dying out. That night straw boys. The behaviour at marriages was bad. The old people thought there was without a hauling home.
