  1. Some people say that if you meet one magpie on the road that it is for bad luck. They say if you meet two on it it is for good luck. If a person breaks a looking glass he will not have luck for seven years.
    If the first women you meet in the morning is red-haired it is for bad luck. If you were going anywhere and forget anything and have to return back again it is a sign of bad luck. If a person gives a turkey away as a present and does not get a penny in return for it, the person that gave it away will have bad luck herself with her own turkey.
    If a person finds a horse shoe on the road it is a sign of good luck. If a person finds a halfpenny on the road it is for good luck. It is very unlucky to see a rat run across the road in front of a motor car.
