  1. 1) I went to Dublin to view Banack St,
A tight hardy fellow, and smart on my feet,
I came across a damsel called Bessie McClean,
She brought me to lodging to Petticoat home.
    (2)
Surely the next morning my Bessie was gone,
And five drunken gurls the fight they began
"Blood and Agro" was I married last night,
'Dead you were, to a handsome young wife.
    (3)
I got an "ould" pair of shoes, I put on in a fright,
And draw up street to look for my wife.
One of those fellows, the police did call,
That I took her shoes that day in the hall.
    (4)
They brought me to justice it she swore to her shoes,
That a good boy in Dublin, but did me abuse.
They bought me to jail, and they locked me up tight,
I doubt shed a hanket the length of the night.
    (5)
Not a bed I had to lie down,
And I was galloping about like a Ball ni a pound.
Come all ye good people that dublin does go
Because of young Bessie, she might serve you so.
She took my of 200, terp-coat and clothes,
And she never come (came) back to borrow me (my) toes.
