  1. Some people empty out the water from the well. They take out all the glár and put a couple of lumps of lime in it. Others go out and gather may-flowers and spread them at the door and windows while others gather big bunches of daisies and build big altars outside in the garden and put the flowers on it.
    Some people tie red and white strings on the cows' tails. They believe that in future they will have good luck.

  2. Another custom was to make a doll, dress it with May-flowers and put it up on May Eve. Then a fire was lit and the people would gather and dance around the fire. This custom was called May babies.
    If you wash your face in the dew off the grass on May morning and wipe your face on a towel that was never woven or spun (that is dry yourself in the sun)
