- The name of my home district is Dungimmon, it is in Kill Bride Parish and in the barony of Castlerahan.
There are 30 families on the road I live on. The houses are oblong in shape 22 thatched and 8 slated.
The townland got its name from a fort and a man named Gimmon who owned the fort.
There are eight old people over seventy. They tell stories in English. There are two old ruins in Dungimmon. The houses were more numerous in former times.
The people were evicted. The land owned now by Mr Sheridan was like a town with houses. The people were put out and the houses levelled. Many people went to America.
It is good hilly land with pure spring water. There are a number of locans and many streams.- Collector
