  1. People marry mostly before Lent and Advent. If you marry in September you will be parted in November. May is also said to be an unlucky month.
    Wednesday is a lucky day for marriage. Saturday is an unlucky day.
    Shrove Tuesday night is called Pancake night, it is so called because people make pancakes and put rings in them that night.
    Matchmaking is carried on in this district. Money is given to people who are going to be married, this is called their fortune, stock and goods are often given.
    When people are married, they sometimes go on their honey-moon, but other times they have a spree, at which there is dancing, feasting singing, etc.
    When the spree that is held in her house is over, they go over to his house, and there is a spree also held there.
