- About fifty years ago, Mr. Philip Coyle, his brother John and a crowd of young men were standing at Drumaughera Cross, which is situated in close proximity to the present Poles Creamery. This creamery is along the Cavan-Dublin Road about three miles from the town of Cavan. It was about nine o'clock on a beautiful summer's evening. The men saw coming towards them a crowd of beautiful young women with lovely golden hair and wearing white aprons. They were humming a song as they came along. John Coyle addressed them in a joking manner. This did not please them, as one of them rushed at John, who fled into his own house, which was near at hand, pursued by her. She did not overtake him, as he managed to get into his house before she reached the door. When she came as far as the door she said that, if she had overtaken him before he entered the house, she would have given(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
