    People began to wear boots in former times at the age of five or six years. There are no accounts of people who never wore boots. The children go barefooted in summer. There are no customs or beliefs connected with the water used for washing the feet. Boots are not made in this district but are repaired. There are no shoemakers in this district, but some years ago there was one shoemaker. Wooden sole clogs were made and worn locally. Clogs are worn now.
