    The usual time the people get married is before Lent on Shrove Monday or Tuesday. The foods they have at Shrove is bacon and pan cakes. Long ago there would be runaway marriages, the man and the girl would run away to some friends house, and it would be a month after until they got married. Before the weddings there were matches made and the girl got £200 or cattle or goods from
