    Ans. A Stone
    Two legs sitting on three legs looking at one leg. In comes four legs and snatches up one leg. Up jumps two legs, snatches up three, throws it at four legs and gets back one leg.
    Ans A butcher sitting on a three legged stool looking at a leg of mutton. In comes a dog and snatches up the leg of mutton. Up jumps the butcher snatches up the stool, throws it at the dog and gets back the leg of mutton.
    If a shovel, a tongs, and a fender cost five shillings, what would a cut of coal come to?
    Ans Cinders.
    Why did the fly fly?
    Ans. Because the spider spied her.
    What goes round the house in the day, and sleeps in the corner during the night?
    Ans A brush
    Why did the owl howl.
    And Because the wood-pecker would peck her.
    A hard working father, a lazy old mother, twelve young children and they all the same colour.
    Ans A Clock.
