  1. History of the Deerpark
    Well! I live in the Deerpark and that townland got it's name because it was specially fenced in for deers.
    There was a range wall from Castletown to the Deerpark. St Patrick was said to have passed through it because he left many marks.
    Not far away from my home there is a large flat stone and on the surface of this stone is the form of a hand
    The traces of the five fingers can be plainly seen. St. Patrick was supposed to have passed this way and in crossing this stile he left the mark of his hand.
