When he was born there was a worm put on his hand and it was left there until it died, and that is supposed to be the reason he is able to cure toothaches. He was also the seventh son of the family and the seventh son is supposed to be a doctor. He makes the sign of the cross on the jaw and he says a prayer when when he is curing a person. Another cure for a toothache is to fill your mouth with cold water. The shock of the cold water is supposed to cure a person.
