- To cure sores around the mouth people used spit out before eating anything in the morning and used say three times "In the name of the Father and of the Son and of of the Holy Ghost" over the sore.
- The sap of young suckers when gathered burning will cure sore lips.
- To cure a stone bruise put a poultice of melted soap and sugar on it.
