   About thirty years ago a man named Patrick Frayne, Tinycross, was in Tullamore on a market day. He left a public house in Harbour Street. He came up the street and walked into the canal. Attempts had been made to find him but it was of no avail until after a week had expired. The people began to dray the canal which was of no benefit. A boat passed along the canal. When boat passed his body floated to the top of the water. It was in the year 1907.

   About the year 1867 a terrible epidemic broke out in Tullamore. and affected mostly Ballydaly. The epidemic was called cholera. The local hospital was over crowded with patients. All persons affected died. Two horse hearses were employed to take the bodies to the graveyard of old Kilcrutton. There were no graves made as the deaths were too numerous. People were brought there just as they died fully dressed in most cases. They were left in a heap and then burned and afterwards a load of lime spread over where the
