  1. In our tillage in Ballymacallen, Moyvore Co. Westmeath, we often turn up, "Danes' pipes" or pieces of them. They are very small light pipes, like the ordinary clay pipes only on a much smaller scale. There are no traditions about them. The people just say they are the pipes the Danes used when they were in this country.
