    In the parish of Castletown near a place called Dysart there is also another holy well called "Tobar Bóithrín" (?) where people go to get a cure for a sick stomach. When they go there they take a drink of the water which cures them instantly. People still rely on these old cures handed down to us by our forefathers, to rid themselves of their ailments.

  2. In the olden days when doctors were not so skilled in medical science the people relied very much on nature's cures.
    The old people believed that a married couple bearing the same surname could cure the whooping cough. If the wife made a pancake and divided it into three parts and if the person suffering from this ailment, and husband and wife ate the pancake the
