    Dyeing - The family of Murtagh, Athboy were dyers.
    Hat-making Hats were made by McCann of Athboy. He made tall silk hats.
    Carpentry - Phil Smith of Rahoney was a carpenter and his son still carries on the trade. Spinning - Wool was spun until about ten years ago by Mrs Bennett of Mooneystown, Athboy. She was the last woman in this district who knew the art of spinning.
