    would let them season until about Christmas. They would start to make the baskets about the end of February or the first of March so as to have them ready for St. Patrick's Day.
    Mostly in the Winter nights they used make the baskets. They used cut a scraw about two square feet and four inches thick. Then they used stick the big rods in that and weave the weak ones round them. The baskets used to be sold for a half-a-crown apiece.
    Weavers.
    There were good weavers in the Parish such as Mr Donlan Carhuligane ; Mr Darcy Carhuligane ; and Michael O Leary Carhuligane Michael O Leary used to weave twenty yards of linen in a day
    Thatchers.
    The celebrated thatchers of the Parish were : - Michael Connors ; Pat Connors and James Darcy Carhuligane and Michael Donlan Clohanatinna.
    Smiths.
    There were good smiths also in the Parish. These are some of their names : - Stephen Scales and Anthony Mc Inerney. Stephen Scales used to make sleáns and spades and sell them at the fairs and markets.
