    The principal roads in the Parish of Kilmurry Ibrickane are:-
    "The Mail Road" running from Milltown Malbay, through Quilty to Kilrush and Kilkee;
    "The Mullagh Road" running from'Lynch's Cross" in Cloonadrum to the village of Mullagh;
    The "Knocknahilla Road" running from "Mullagh Cross" to Knocknahilla and Kilmihil;
    "The Donogan Road" running from "Mullagh Cross to Donogan, Coore and "The Hand" to Ennis;
    "The Clohantinna Road" running from the "Knocknahilla Road" to meet the "Mail Road" at Moloskey;
    "The Moloskey Road" running from the "Mail Road" through Scropul, Kanturk and thence to Ennis via Connolly;
    "The Annagh Road" running from "Mullagh Cross" to Miltown-Malbay and thence to Ennis via Inagh;
    "The Ballymakea Road" running from "Annagh Cross" to meet the "Mail Road" near Quilty
    The majority of these roads were made during the years of the famine. The "Mail Road" was made at this time. The men working on the roads were paid from 8d to 10d per day. Where there was no man in the house the women and girls did the work and their rates of pay varied from 4d to 8d. It was customary for those working on the roads to get meal in lieu of
